The Think! Bike Confusion

The Think! Bike Confusion

When introduced at events or reported in the media, we are commonly mis-reported as a BMX display team. Although there is a crossover between the sports, what we do is actually based on mountain bike trials. Another common mistake is to call us "Think Bike" and not "Think Bikes".

You may notice signs for "Think! Bike" or just straight "Think Bike" on motorways, on TV, in magazines and even on bumper stickers - these are nothing to do with us! The Think Bike campaign was originally run in the 1980s as a way of encouraging car users to look again when pulling out at junctions, as to avoid hitting motor cyclists. Doesn't sound much like a mountain bike stunt display team, does it?

When we formed the company in 2006, the Think! Bike campaigns were no longer running - but they were soon resurrected with a set of modern adverts.

As a recap - Think Bike! is about being hit by cars and Think Bikes is about jumping off cars! So although we strongly encourage you to Think Bike! we also want to make sure that you Think Bikes :)
